White and blue wedding flowers

A small intimate wedding with the bride's favourite flower ....Carnations.
They may have a poor reputation but I still love these flowers. The colours can be fabulous and they are long lasting AND budget friendly.
Any ways back to this wedding. The bride loved her carnations and with the colour scheme being white and blue we went with a white variety. The blue was added with a single stem of deep blue delphinium. A simple bouquet was requested, and hopefully achieved. 5 pure white carnations with the delphinium laid on a bed of variegated pittosporum with flowing beargrass for movement. All tied with an eco friendly hessian bow.

The single bridesmaid carried a group of carnations with a hint of blue in the addition of a few delphinium florets surrounded by pitto.

The stems were bound fully with hessian.

The groom matched his bride wearing a single carnation buttonhole with delphinium florets and pitto leaves. Stems bound with twine to carry on the country and eco vibe.

The groomsmen each wore a single carnation buttonhole.

Our buttonholes are presented pinned on a covered board

and these can be labelled if you so choose.

The bridal flowers are presented in one of our recycled flower boxes and cushioned with recycled paper or packing from our deliveries and ultimately laid on a layer of new tissue paper.

Each bride has a unique idea on her flowers. Large or small budgets are designed with the upmost care and at present we have no minimum spend.
If you love our flowers and would like to discuss your options please get in touch.

Rainbow coloured wedding flowers

I hadn't realised quite how far behind I had got with the weddings and blogging! So many great designs to show you and lots of ideas to give you inspiration.

Let's start with this pre-pandemic (was there such a time!) wedding for P and E.
Their preference was for the ladies to carry a simple posy of carnations, a mix of green, pale peach, gold and white, with a frilling of pistachio.

While the groomsmen wore pale peach traditional style buttonholes.

The wedding was held at The Lincoln Hotel and all the table flowers were to follow the LGBTQ+ rainbow colours.
The ceremony, and later the top table, display was a rainbow explosion of all the colours.

The ceremony room at The Lincoln Hotel

The room was set for 5 guest tables for the 5 rainbow colours.
The table flowers were included within the hotel package (I am one of their preferred suppliers) and this couple chose the small wood crates which we filled with individual colours.
The blue one included Delphinium, thistle, Scabious, Echinops and cornflowers.

The orange design included celosia, carnations, spray roses, sweet peas and roses.

The red was filled with gerbera, celosia, spray roses, eustoma and sweet peas.

The yellow crate included a sunny mix of Deliann, spray roses, gerbera and freesia.

The purple (my favourite) was a lovely summer mix of stocks, eustoma, sweet peas, freesia and lavender.

Each of the designs in situ to show the size on the tables. Once the tables are set these crates are the perfect size and can be kept/given away afterwards.

If you love these designs, or are getting married at The Lincoln Hotel and would like to talk through your own designs please get in touch. You can go to the website to see more gorgeous wedding designs and book a consultation at The Studio or click here

Vintage inspired gyp bouquets

A lovely vintage inspired bouquet of gyp and white carnations. The bride wanted to carry something simple and neat but didn't like roses. Carnations are often overlooked as a wedding flowers but go well with a vintage theme. The stems were tied and bound with white lace with a small bow.
The bridesmaids each carried a small bouquet of gyp
again tied together with white lace.

The groomsmen wore a single white carnation with large ruscus leaf while the groom had a sprig of gyp added to match his bride.
The ladies wore a traditional corsage of white spray carnations and gyp.

Purple, lilac and ivory bridal party flowers.

A very popular colour over the last few years is the purple and lilac combination. Sarah wanted a traditional type bouquet and opted for a longer teardrop style which is very neat in the trail. The flowers used were ivory roses with purple and lilac eustoma and dark green ruscus foliage.
These flowers work very well together especially in this type of design.
The older bridesmaids each carried a hand tied design of the same flowers and foliage.

The stems were wrapped in ivory satin ribbon.
The flower girl carried a single white lily which was surrounded with purple eustoma and ruscus foliage.

Mum wore a traditional corsage of roses and purple and lilace eustoma to match the bride.
All the groomsmen wore a single white carnation with foliage.
