Sunflower and Iris country style wedding at White Hart Hotel Lincoln

A sunny wedding set up at the lovely White Hart Hotel in Lincoln's historic Bailgate.
This is the ceremony and reception of the blog post from Friday, see bouquets and buttonholes here)
The ceremony table was adorned with a long and low of yellow sunflowers, blue delphinium, cornflower and Iris.
This was later transferred across to the top table.

The guest tables were each treated to a jar display of sunflowers, iris, gyp and foliage to create a sunny country style display.

The lovely King Richard Suite at The White Hart Hotel, ready and waiting for the happy couple and their guests.

If you love this style of display and would like to discuss your ideas for your own wedding please get in touch to book a consultation.

Sunflower Iris Cornflower sunny bridal party flowers

I was asked if Sunflowers could be used as the main wedding flower for this sunny wedding. and Yes of course they can!! Could they be teamed with blue Iris, and again Yes of course!
Whatever your favourite flower or colour we aim to please and as long as we can source the flower/colour your choice can be achieved.
This gorgeous bride bouquet was large yellow sunflowers and blue iris and with variegated pitto and salal foliage. The stems were part bound with yellow satin ribbon.

The 4 bridesmaids each carried a smaller bouquet of 4 large sunflowers, blue iris and gyp with foliage.

The bridal flowers all ready for delivery and presentation to the bride.

The groomsmen all wore a mimi sunflower with salal and pitto leaf, gyp sprig and yellow ribbon

Stand out from the crowd and use your personality to enhance your wedding flowers.
Be bright and bold with your colour choice if that is you.
If you are looking for bright and colourful flowers for your wedding day then please give us a call to see how we can transform your ideas into reality.

Roses and Iris bridal bouquet

Iris are generally overlooked when it comes to wedding flowers, so I was delighted when Kat asked me to include them in her bouquet. She didn't want anything too large to carry and wanted to keep the flowers quite light. Kat's hand-tie bouquet was ivory roses, iris and gyp with a few bear grass loops.
Her four maids, dressed in blue, carried a simple design of a white hydrangea head with a fluffy collar of gyp with bear grass loops to match the brides.
All ladies and gentlemen of the wedding party were given a rose with sprigs of gyp to wear as buttonholes.

Purple themed bouquets

For those of you who have chosen to have purple as your accent colour, here are a few examples of bouquets and flowers available to you. Please remember the season you are getting wed may affect availability.
Purple edged carnations, don't overlook this 'common' flower. There really are some beautiful varieties available.
A mixed hand-tie design. The combination of pinks, lilac and white work well against a purple bridesmaid dress as well as adding colour to the brides bouquet.
Picasso calla lilies. A modern hand-tie using just one flower type, but sometimes less is definitely more.
A Mother of the bride/groom corsage. Purple calla lily with purple eustoma, trachelium and september flower, all available through most of the year.
A hand-tie of all eustoma, but using different colours. A mix of purple and white with picotee varieties to add interest.
Purple shades shouldn't be discounted, purple cymbidiums and singapore orchids come in variety of shades.
Purple hydrangea, thought to be expensive but an excellent filler flower.
Roses, tulips and lilac itself come in some interesting shades.
Can't match that must have flower, add in some coloured wire for a real modern touch.
Country garden theme, purples and lilacs work well with statice, scabious and larkspur available through the summer.
Another country themed hand-tie. Roses and freesia are always popular.
Don't overlook Iris. Not often used in bridal flowers they can work well if used right.
Statuesque delphiniums, roses and phlox make a stunning overarm bouquet.
