Pretty wedding flowers at St Peter at Eastgate

Unfortunately the weather on this wedding day was not great, but they do say rain on your wedding day is good luck! A wet (marriage) knot is harder to break and therefore the marriage lasts longer.

The bride asked for pretty posies to be attached to the open gateway of the church to welcome the guests.

Pretty pink santini chrysants, pale alstroemeria, gyp and herbs were tied with hessian bows to the gate posts.

The church doorway was framed with 2 of my gorgeous bay trees and ribbons.

Once inside the church each row of chairs had a pretty gyp ball attached with a hessian bow.

Simple understated design but en mass brightens up the aisle

The church screen was adorned with fern, myrtle and ivy trails

Looking to the rear of the church as the groom would do waiting for his bride.

Country style bride bouquet with gyp bridesmaid flowers

A pretty spring wedding with country style bride's bouquet.
Some flowers can be overlooked for weddings but are perfectly cute and help you keep to budget. This bouquet included, alstroemeria, santini chrysants, gyp, eustoma and ferns, ivy and herbs. Creating a gorgeous trailing hand tie.

Pretty pink blooms with gyp interwoven throughout and stems bound with twine to match the country style of the day.

Alstroemeria and santini chrysants come in many colours and with many flowers per stem are real value for your money.

The bridesmaids carried gyp ball posies

Bouquets waiting to be delivered to their ladies.

Peony rose and daisy wedding flowers

Alice already had a vision for her flowers but wasn't sure if it would all work in reality. She really wanted to have peonies and roses but wanted to incorporate daisies into the mix as well. Not a usual mixing of flower varieties but anything is worth looking at. The colour scheme chosen was white and a delicate pink and these work really well with peonies and roses. The daisies also have yellow middles so we discussed whether this would be a problem, other than that we saw no reason to not put the mix together. Add in eucalyptus foliage and you have a truly lovely bouquet filled with scent.

The single bridesmaid carried a mix of pink and white roses with daisies and eucalyptus.

The two bouquets had lace wrapped around the stems to compliment the bride's dress.

The two mum's wore a corsage of a pink and an ivory rose plus a few daisies with Rosemary foliage.

The groom and main groomsmen wore a boutonniere of an ivory rose, freesia florets, rosemary and eucalyptus leaves.

The rest of the bridal party wore a single ivory rose with eucalyptus.

The buttonholes are pinned onto a board for delivery.
These can be labelled if required.

If you have something different in mind for your bouquet but not sure whether it will work please get in touch to discuss your options. If it is doable we are happy to provide, whether in our style/taste or not. We at The Studio never forget it is your day. We look forward to hearing from you.

The Dower House Hotel fabulous peony and rose wedding

This is Part 2 from yesterday's post.
The ceremony and wedding all took part at The Dower House Hotel at Woodhall Spa.
We were all slightly worried about the outdoor ceremony, it was pretty poor weather all week but the clouds parted on the day and it was lovely and dry (it was Bank Holiday weekend too!).

We decorated the arbor where the ceremony takes place with a couple of garlands of mixed foliage, hydrangeas, roses and peonies. This was from an idea the bride had seen and adapted to suit her flowers.

As it was so lovely we placed the hydrangeas in vases around on the outside tables where, no doubt, the guests would sit looking at the fabulous gardens and the rhododendrons.

The gardens and house

The wedding signs and watering cans were decorated by the bride but these are now available to hire and we can decorate these for you.

The entrance table with seating plan and card collector. These were made by the bride but again we can now offer these to hire for your day.

The Dower House bar with a hydrangea decoration.

The Dower House furniture is gorgeous

The lovely top table was part decorated by the bride and partly by us.

Lots of lovely flowers in jam jars, some fresh (us) some artificial (bride). It took a good eye to tell the difference.
This would look (and smell) divine with all fresh flowers.

This makes a lovely alternative to one central display. Candles were also dotted through the flowers in various sized containers

A single hydrangea head in a jam jar wrapped in hessian

Pretty in pink, peony, sweet pea, roses and gyp jam jar

Pretty jars filled with summer loveliness

Sweet avalanche roses, Sarah Bernhardt peonies, gyp, spray roses and sweet peas

The guest tables were a selection of flowers as per the top table set in 3 jam jars of various sizes stood on our log slices. We also provided candles in small jars on these too

All set and styled by us

These are such a pretty addition to your guest tables, low enough to enable chatting but pretty enough to make an impact.

The Dower house looking very pretty.

This is a really lovely venue for a garden styled wedding

Beautiful Peony and rose wedding flowers

Today is BLUE MONDAY. Apparently the day we are saddest as we now are in the throws of winter, Christmas is over and we are all getting our credit card bills etc and are coming to the realization we overspent during the festivities, oh yes and it's Monday!!
So to combat all this I thought I would share with you this beautifully pretty wedding from last May. The flowers were chosen by the bride, she knew exactly what she wanted - peony and roses. Fortunately May is a month when the beautiful peony is in season, always a plus with this temperamental flower.

The bridal bouquet was a stunning mix of pink peony, avalanche roses in pink and white, white hydrangeas, pink sweet peas and gyp.

The roses, peony and sweet peas are all scented so as well as it looking pretty the scent was divine.

The three bridesmaids carried a very simple but highly scented bouquet of mixed peonies.

Lovely bundles of ruffles.

All bouquet stems were bound with hessian

The three flower girls each wore a pretty wrist corsage of pink sweet peas. These were presented on an white ribbon to be tied on.

Again highly scented bundles of ruffles

One of the mums wore a peony and gyp buttonhole

Stems bound with twine

The groomsmen all wore pink roses with gyp

The other ladies wore a white rose with gyp and foliage

The groom wore a mix selection of flowers from the bridal bouquet

tied as a natural bunch rather than wired.

The page boy looked so cute with his very own spray rose and gyp buttonhole.

This is Part 1 of this wedding and part 2 will be on show tomorrow. Please make sure you check back in as this really was such a pretty set up at a fabulous venue.

If you like any of these designs or want to discuss us styling your own day, please get in touch to book a consultation. Dates for 2017 are filling up and 2018 is looking busy too. Don't miss out if you like us to help you have your dream wedding flowers.

*If you are looking to include the fabulous peony in your wedding the prime time for these flowers is May -July. You can get them either side of these dates and a small selection in the autumn BUT beware. Outside their season they are highly expensive and of poor quality (usually but not extensively) so to make the most of them choose your wedding date very carefully.
A good florist will be able to show you other flowers with similar style to enhance your bouquets and not break your budget.
Ask us for advice first
