Gainsborough Golf Club

Natalie and David held their wedding reception at Gainsborough Golf Club. I hadn't been here before but it is a lovely venue with the room upstairs affording views across the greens and to the countryside beyond.
The top table was dressed with a ruscus and ivy swag with deep red spray roses on the swag and large red roses, as the brides bouquet, on the tops. A bay tree stood either side the table.

The guest table designs were traditional posies of red and ivory flowers with germini, roses, carnation and stallion chrysants.

This was an intimate wedding with four guest tables splendidly dressed in red/burgundy and ivory.
Gainsborough golf club ready and waiting for the bride and groom.
The seating plan was also given a small decoration to tie in with the top table.
The two thank you hand-ties.

Red and ivory roses

Natalie and David first got in touch with me back in January. They already had a good idea on the colours and designs they wanted and with a little tweaking to suit the day we were soon sorted.
Natalie asked for a simple shower design, not too large or flowing, in a dark red rose. To lighten it up a little I used variegated foliage of ivy and pittospurnum with small sprigs of gyp. Each rose also had its own diamante.
Natalie's bridesmaid carried a hand-tie posy of ivory roses and pittospurnum foliage with a few diamante in the flowers.
David wore a matching rose and foliage to his bride with a sprig of gyp.
The male guests wore a single ivory rose buttonhole.
The mums wore a simple corsage of three smaller ivory roses with a sprig of gyp and foliage.

Shab's wedding at Charlotte House Hotel

Sweetness rose hand-tied bouquet

I first met Shab at The Lincoln wedding fayre when I was exhibiting at The Judges Lodgings. We discussed briefly her requirements, and she was quick to point out it was only going to be a small do and would this be a problem. As I told Shab at the time, the way I see this is;
A wedding is a wedding whether it be an intimate do or a lavish and grand affair, flowers, to me, are part and parcel of any wedding and as such I am happy to create as much or as little as each bride requires.
 Anyway back to the flowers.
As the bride was going to be wearing a red and gold dress and didn't want to carry anything too large, we decided on a hand-tie of roses. The next decision, and this took a while to get the right shade, was the colour of the rose. The one chosen initially was eventually decided would be too pink and so Sweetness was picked. A lovely two tone rose with outer petals of red and ivory to cream centres. This was teamed with gyp and tree fern with a collar of salal. The stems were wrapped in ivory satin ribbon and pinned with diamantes to match the ones in the centre of the roses.
As it was an intimate do, only two guest tables were required. These were simply a fishbowl with 3 floating sweetness roses with bear grass swirls and added diamantes, sat on a mirror. As the room was going to be turned around after the service I had to rely on the lovely staff at Charlotte House Hotel to set up.

The registrars table display was also going to double up as the top table centrepiece.
This consisted of red and ivory and sweetness roses, white lilies, freesia and gyp with an assortment of foliage.

The groom wore a single red rose to match his brides dress and a corsage was also provided.http://charlottehouselincoln.com/
