White gerbera wedding

A lovely gerbera wedding I was thrilled to be asked to provide flowers for from the weekend.
Julie knew what she wanted when she first met me at a wedding fair and fortunately I had a very similar bouquet on my stand.
The bride's bouquet was gorgeous black centred gerberas with lilac roses, gyp, cuscus foliage and bear grass loops.

We added some sparkle with diamante pins in the roses

Julie had 5 bridesmaids in total, all different ages, so we went all gerberas for the older ladies, mimicking the bride with cuscus foliage and bear grass loops.

The younger maids had a smaller bouquet in the same style

and lastly the flower girl carried a single gerbera with bear grass loops and ribbon trails.

We also provided 6 groomsmen buttonholes, similar in style to this one (I forgot to take photos)

and also ladies buttonholes.

If you love gerberas and would like to include them in your wedding flowers, either as one of many blooms or on their own, please get in touch to discuss your options. We love gerberas here at The Studio and are always happy to provide them for your bouquets (unlike many florists!) and buttonholes. Many will tell you they won't withstand the day, but we have done many gerbera weddings over the years without problem.
For more of our designs go to 'labels' on the right and scroll to 'gerbera'.

We look forward to hearing from you soon

Gerbera wedding flowers

When I first met Emily we talked through what she might like in her bouquet and we went through photos of what she described to me. However on looking through she kept picking out images with gerberas in, these were not in her brief, at all. On further discussion it transpired that other florists had warned her off gerbera as not suitable for weddings and in particular bouquets!! I hear this a lot...... I am here to tell you they work fine. Yes they are not the longest lasting flower out of water (neither are some of the other popular wedding flowers) but treated well (a florist should know) they will last the day out.
They are probably my second biggest ask after roses and I feel they work perfectly well for all your wedding designs.

Emily's bouquet was therefore her favourite flower, gerbera. We did struggle to match the colour, coral can be difficult as there are not the same amount of varieties as say pink but we got there in the end and these were gorgeous blooms.
To support the heads they were given a collar of salal and the heads each had a diamante pin to add sparkle.

The three bridesmaids who wore full length coral dresses carried a mix of ivory and coral gerberas.

All bouquets together

The flower girls carried a single coral gerbera with ivory ribbon trails and with the stems completely wrapped for little hands.

The groomsmen each wore a germini buttonhole with a salal leaf

and the ladies wore a buttonhole of a germane, gyp and mixed foliage.

All our buttonholes are delivered on a board and may be labelled if required. This helps the venue staff when dishing them out to guests.

These photos were kindly given by Emily's photographer Mark Pugh. To see more of his work click here

If you love gerbera and would like them for your wedding flowers please get in touch today to book a consultation. We are always happy to use this gorgeous bloom either on it's own or with others.

The ceremony and reception flowers will be here tomorrow.

Autumn bridal party flowers

This was a gorgeous autumn wedding back in October 2014.
Lots of lovely vintage touches through the day and the flowers added a splash of colour.

The bride's bouquet was a hand tie design of orange gerberas, pink garden roses and burgundy spray roses with hypericum berries and silver foliage and pearls on a wire.

The stems were fully bound with orange satin ribbon with a teal overlay of shoestring ribbon.

The bridesmaids carried a similar but smaller version of the bride's

with silver ribbon around the stems and overlay of burgundy shoestring ribbon.

The groom wore an orange gerbera with silver foliage and grass loops as his buttonhole.

The groomsmen wore an orange gerbera buttonhole with silver foliage

and the mum's wore one with pearls added.

Other female guests wore a garden rose buttonhole

Tomorrow will be the gorgeous ceremony set up at The White Heather

Pink and white gerberas

Donna's wedding flowers were all about the gerbera's. Cerise pink and white ones with added diamante.
The brides bouquet was a mix of the two colours in a hand tie with matching ribbon around the stems, pinned with more diamante.
The bridesmaids carried an all pink gerbera bouquet with white satin ribbon around the stems and pink pins.

The flower girl carried a smaller bouquet with pink germini.
The groomsmen wore pink germini buttonholes with the ladies wearing pink ones.

Simply Gerberas

Jessica asked for simple wedding flowers based purely around gerberas. As it was a really relaxed wedding and in her words 'we have put most of the budget into a the wedding venue' it also had to be good budget wise.
The bride was wearing a burgundy wedding dress and so her choice of white gerberas was excellent. Now nothing is simpler than a bouquet made up of just one flower, and against her dress these would really stand out. The stems were wrapped in the same material as her dress.
The two little bridesmaids each carried a very small bouquet of 3 yellow gerberas tied with ivory ribbon to go with their daisy dresses.
A couple of the ladies wore a single white gerbera attached to ivory satin ribbon to wear on their wrists.
All the buttonholes were gerberas with foliage.

Jessica had bought some glass bowls and wanted to float some gerberas in them. I provided these and at Jessica's request got these bright two tone coloured geberas to give colour to the tables.
