On Sunday I decided to have a run out along with my wonderful fiance and have a look around a fabulous new wedding venue in Yorkshire. It will be recognisable to many of you who follow Sarah Beeny on TV as her home and to the television programme of Restoration Nightmare, namely Rise Hall.
Julia, of Brides Up North in association with Dine events were hosting a wedding fayre, the first since the venue was granted it's wedding license.
On a rather bleak day of heavy showers we found this venue tucked away, but easy to find with all the easy to read signposts. A hiden gravel drive wound its way up to the main door. On arrival two lovely guys instructed us where to park and then on walking to the grand entrance a gentleman asked if we had pre-booked, which we had, and were told where we had to go to register. The very lovely Julia, who organised the Tweet Ups last year, gave me a welcome hug and told me the day looked like it was going to be a roaring success, with more than expected brides having booked to attend.
I had gone with a few reasons in mind, one) to be nosey and have a look around a gorgeous venue, two) to possibly see about exhibiting at one of Julias shows in the future, and 3) well we are engaged....
There was  a good assortment of suppliers, with two rooms set up as you would see on a wedding day. The room with the civil ceremony was dressed with chairs for guests and a table for the registrar and two fine looking goblets of flowers either side. The dining room had a long table set for around 20 again with some fabulous candelabra displays to help set the scene. This looked out onto a lovely terrace with a seating area, but as it was so wet we didn't venture out. I didn't take photos as it wouldn't seem right taking them of someone elses work. But if you get chance to go later in the year, I hear a whisper there maybe another fayre, do go and have a good look around.
