Happy New Year

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
Hoping 2014 brings all your wishes together or at least a little closer.
I'm looking forward to working with so many fabulous suppliers this coming year and to designing displays for some awesome couples. 2014 is already looking like a super busy year, starting with wedding fayre season kicking off on 12th January. (More of this next week).
Keep your eye out for some fantastic deals coming soon.

Enjoy yourselves tonight, enjoy the celebrations but please be careful.

Take care and see you next year xx

Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday

On Monday I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of Theo Paphitis' small business Sunday winners. This is an initiative set up by Theo on Twitter that runs weekly. Small business Sunday or #SBS was started by Theo in October 2010. He asks small businesses to tweet about their business between 5 pm and 7.30 pm on a Sunday using the #SBS hash tag. He then chooses 6 winners that catch his eye to re-tweet to his 400,000 followers giving a massive boost to the chosen businesses. The benefits are inclusion on Theo's Small business Sunday web page, increased followers, media appearances and hopefully increased sales.

I have already had a jump in followers on Twitter and an increase of hits on my web page. I also hope to generate some publicity from this in the local press.

The Oaklands Hotel, Grimsby

Following on from the church service was the wedding breakfast at The Oaklands Hotel, Grimsby.
The top table display was split into 3 separate designs. A larger middle arrangement with two similar but smaller designs at either end.

The flowers were of a similar content to the brides bouquet with germini, freesia, viburnum, bupleurum and white stallion chrysants with a mix of foliage.

The guest tables each had a medium fish bowl with ivory germini and bear grass with an ivory candle and clear crystal stones in the base.

I also dressed the table with tea lights in small glass holders and clear table crystals.

Each of the ladies chairs was dressed with an added germini with diamante in the chair bow.

The whole room all ready and waiting the arrival of the bride and groom.

I love receiving emails like this a week after the wedding.

Hi Sandra
Thank you so much. The flowers were absolutely stunning and are still going strong now!
It's been a pleasure having you do the flowers for the wedding.

St Giles Church Scartho

This wedding service took part in St Giles Church Scartho.
The pew ends were simple bunches of ivory germinis with bupleurum and china grass loops tied together with an ivory bow.

As this is only a small church the bride decided to have all the pews decorated.
We also added two windowsill arrangements in the same mix of flowers as the brides bouquet.
At the entrance to the church stood two bay trees to greet the guests. These were decorated with ivory roses and ribbons.

Ivory and green wedding flowers

This may be a little later than promised but here is the first wedding of 2013.
A lovely spring colour combination of ivory and green. The main flowers were germini with other spring flowers.

The brides bouquet consisted of ivory germini, freesia and hyacinths with green viburnum, bupleurum and loops of china grass. A light collar of salal was added with the stems bound in ivory ribbon with green shoestring ribbon criss-crossed around diamante pins.
The 3 bridesmaids carried a similar bouquet of mainly germini, freesia, bupleurum and china grass. Diamante pins were added to the centres of the germinis and the stems were bound with the same ribbon as the bridal bouquet.
The little flower girl carried a silver heart wand with a single germini and china grass loops.
The guys were each given a single germini with china grass loops as buttonholes.
The mums wore a similar design but one was a lapel corsage (above) and the other a wrist corsage (below)
These were of the same flower content as the brides bouquet.

The Lonely Poinsettia

As it's Christmas I thought I would join in the fun campaign of The Lonely Poinsettia.

Over the next few days I will be leaving some of these gorgeous little plants as gifts in some unexpected places (not saying where). If you are in the Lincoln/Gainsborough area do keep your eye out for these little plants, they don't like being cold so will need to be adopted and taken home and warmed fairly quickly. (If it snows this will be delayed until it warms up).
There is NO catch to this, if you find one it is yours to keep or give as a gift, all I ask is you comment on here, on Facebook or on The Lonely Bouquet web page here as I would like to know where they ended up.
